Courtney McCune

Hi! My name is Courtney and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m an Arizona native and downtown Phoenix-based writer, editor and content strategist. Like most writer-types these days, I also have professional experience in social media, content development and management, SEO, marketing, PR and more.

Much of my work has been in the areas of news and lifestyle, arts and culture, higher education and community development. I’ve been fortunate to gain a broad range of skills and perspectives through my career — from serving as managing editor for Downtown Phoenix Journal, to telling the stories of artists, students, entrepreneurs and more, to helping people both locally and globally connect with higher education. I hold a BA in broadcast journalism from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and an MA in English (literacy, technology and professional writing) from Northern Arizona University.

Along with writing, I love exploring Phoenix (preferably on bike), traveling just about anywhere, reading, running, live music and comedy, being outdoors and spending time with my husband and our brilliant Australian Shepherd mix, Josephine.
